I recently saw a meme that expressed to me the state of veganism in 2017.

“Vegans – We’re not crazy, we’re just from the future.”

I see headlines daily now that talk about the evolution of vegan products into foods that look and taste delicious, a far cry from recent decades.

While vegetables, fruits, legumes, grains and nuts are of course always available for delicious meals, as a former meat-eater and a friend to many who have trouble considering going vegan, I know that foods that look like typical meat-eater fare that are entirely veggie are crucial to helping people make the transition.

It’s encouraging to see some big money now going into developing delicious plant-based products. Even meat companies are seeing it’s the way the world is headed and investing in the new plant products.

To me there is no reason to kill an animal to eat it. Many people don’t see that but they do see that there are serious human health effects from eating ill and/or medicated genetically-altered beings and the issue of animal agriculture taking up too much space and causing air, water and ground pollution.
